UK days } part IV
Posted on October 15, 2015 Leave a Comment

I’m posting the rest of my September/October ‘UK days’ retrospectively, as my laptop went wonky after only a week in London. I’m back in Kuwait now, recovering from my very long trip, getting back into the hang of things.
the well-dressed, well-coifed bulgarian lady who occasionally cheated

Listen as you watch: When I started this picture earlier this evening, I was stuck. I knew I wanted to put something on this woman’s head, I just wasn’t sure what. A little ways in I posted my progress on Instagram. Minutes later, my friend Lubna Saif Abbas left a comment: I imagine her with a set of […]

I cheated. Sort of. I’m supposed to only be doing an hour a day, but an hour a few hours apart counts to me.

Every year, a vital part of my PGB exhibitions are my brother Mohammed’s photos and Mohammed himself. He flew in early from Bahrain to be at the exhibition, and that means the world to me. Thanks, Mo.

I’m re-posting this to pump you up for next week’s show! I do hope you try to make it and enjoy yourself. As you may already know, my PGB exhibitions are about you having fun and being involved and camera ready! A reminder to put on your polkadots and charge your phones. I expect lots […]

I had this canvas ready for weeks, so it was really good to get started on it. I really enjoyed working on this painting today. I’d like to have it finished soon and start working on others.
polka-madness on a chilly december 5th night

The worst thing I could have done to myself after a long week, day and night of exhibition preparation and time was looking at these photos in bed. Whatever exhaustion I felt flew right out of my laughing mouth as I LOLed myself to a state of wakefulness and excitement to get these on the […]
Upcoming Exhibition}PrettyGreenBullet|The Second Exhibition

I have finally secured a venue and set a date (well, two tentatively, a week apart) for my upcoming PrettyGreenBullet exhibition. I have decided to have a one-night PGB exhibition at the Dar Al-Funoon gallery on either December 5 or December 12. It’s a bigger and more fulfilling sensation than I thought now that I […]
ramadan drawing|day before last?

I’ve upped my speed with this drawing. I hadn’t realized how near we are to the end of ramadan and I’m kinda panicking. I’m going to miss it once I’m done. Which should be tomorrow. Please click here for a step by step slideshow of this drawing.

I started this painting yesterday. I didn’t think I’d get this far, but I got really into it. I’m very much enjoying the patterning, and I made it a rule to avoid all opaqueness, which is very different from my usual approach to painting. I only broke the rule at the end because it was […]
Ruby & Her Three Yellow Roses

Sunday morning is usually the day I like to play. I haven’t had this chance for a while because of preparations for my upcoming Stories of Eves exhibition at the Tilal Gallery. It felt great to work on a small canvas, without a deadline or the pressures that come with it. The name ‘Ruby’ just […]
