airplane timelines } flight ME403 kuwait to beirut, july 26, 2015
.
sunday, july 26 } greasy fries at the airport. it wouldn’t have happened if i weren’t traveling with four teenagers
monday, july 27 } after spending a sweltering night at my parents’ AC-busted apartment in beirut, z and i traveled to shouf to stay with the family for a few days. here, my brother mo and little k at a river somewhere in the mountain
before the jump. i didn’t know what to expect at this river/picnic spot, so i wasn’t prepared to swim. i ended up jumping in completely clothed. there was something very liberating about it. or maybe that was just the frigid water
mo, little k and a river-chilled watermelon
my father and mo braved the river first
jana’s sister saba cheers the jumpers on. in a few minutes she’ll be jumping into the river too…fully clothed

after a long day, this nightcap at saba’s chalet on jana’s family compound
tuesday, july 28 } i start the day replying to emails in my parents’ garden. i try to update my blog but there are too many distractions
like this guy. a lovely start to the day with baby k
everything’s a ‘ball’ according to him. even i am a ‘ball’
since he’s amenable (well, he doesn’t have much of a choice), i photograph him with my traveling tap
i could just eat him up
eve enjoys the lebanese treetops. it’s midday now. we’ll probably go out soon. i’m ready for the city, so hope to go back down to beirut tomorrow
