khaldoun’s book } december 12th, 2014

I’ve been wanting to get back into life drawing for a while now, and I’m so out of practice. So I decided that the best model for this would be my new nephew Khaldoun. Little did I know what a difficult subject he would be. No matter how much I enjoy looking at him, the little monkey won’t stay still! And neither will his mom. But that’s what life drawing is about, capturing the essence of the subject in the least time you have. I’m also discouraged by how rusty I am. It was very hard for me not to draw the lines that I have become so familiar with in my paintings and sketches. But I think Khaldoun’s Book will be a good exercise for me. It’s nice to think that throughout this sketchbook, my nephew and I will be growing together.
