yesterday
.
my initial mortification at this instagram post by my mother turned into compassion for this poor little girl with the bowl cut hairdo (someone commented ‘the original eve’) on the left and a bad hairdo on the right. and it didn’t help growing up with a super cute younger brother
fast forward to yesterday. at zeri crafts i spied these two on the wall
tea with laila and georgia at the very serene zeri crafts. a great way to start any day let alone a special one
a little later at dar nur. there’s so much here i love. and so much that has been created by people i both cherish and admire
like these! i was actually surprised to see laila’s notebooks here. because i’ve had my blue one for so long, i imagine they’re all mine
my dear friend mai al-nakib’s book ‘the hidden light of objects’. also an intricate ceramic piece and ‘hands of fatima’ by jordanian sculptor katia al-tal. and i love choux a la creme’s quirky cards and notebooks, like the flamingo ones here
yesterday morning i saw noor. that was another one ticked off my list of special people i wanted to see. one person whose magic fairy dust i missed on my special day was mai. but alas i didn’t make it happen
i spy sarah al-hamad. i was so happy i got to see her last night via facetime
the morning after, gift opening time. this one from noor
soap! a candle! cards! and a black box
this
another striptease in the pgb house
a wonderful tray with a man-handed mallard! what shall i name him?
this from laila
a white mashrabia notebook! oh now i absolutely must finish drawing in my blue one
sister notebooks
eve, ever the cut-up
the eves often compete. i suppose it’s healthy…
