uk days } part three

i went to oxford street to buy a dress and ended up buying shoes. i hate shopping and had to soothe myself by…um…shopping

after my failed shopping attempt (some have experienced me as a shopper, you know who you are!) i returned home to this yummy aubergine lunch prepared for me by n and t’s housekeeper ludmilla

later on for dinner i ended up wearing my ‘secretary’ opening dress, edging it up a little with this killer clutch and some bling i borrowed from n

a ritz chandelier taken by michelle. by the way, nelli, the birthday girl, WAS there but she refuses to be photographed. we’re going to need to break her if she wants to be part of the alkandari family

what a delight to find the rose issa gallery! the last time i was here was in 2012. i love that matthew’s work was the first thing i saw when i turned into this street

matthew corbin bishop’s ‘gulf group’, ‘north africa group’ and ‘levant group’ series. matthew works obsessively and meticulously to reproduce these stamps

a very elegantly hung exhibition with beautiful, heart-moving pieces. here, works by farhad ahrarnia (the dig, composition no. xii), ayman baalbaki (american embassy), bita ghezelayagh (talismanic fragment) and shiah armajani (‘my father had once a pear tree’)
