hour drawing } twelve & a halfth hour
My hour drawing is finished. It’s more or less official: it takes 12-13 hours to complete these ink drawings on A3 paper. People always ask me and it’s so hard to keep track of time when I’m working. So now you have a reference point.
Sheer Class! Waow!
I admired this drawing the first time I looked at it, but it adds to the experience to see the construction of its parts laid out in time slices. Do you do any drawing in graphite beforehand? It would take courage to do such a complex drawing entirely and directly in ink.
Thank you. I draw it straight on with ink. It’s a stream of thought, so drawing it in pencil first takes all the spontaneity away. There’s not much room for mistakes because my lines follow a very certain and slow path.
