i don't have my little black notebook anymore so i wrote today's notes on crinkly blue paper which i LOVE
These are the final notes for the upcoming Palestinian Culture Center exhibition opening on November 29th at Bait Lothan. I’ve been volunteering at the center for over fifteen years and it becomes a big part of my life twice a year. I’m going to include the invitation in this post for those of you interested in Palestinian handicrafts and the latest books on Palestine and the Middle East. (more…)

I’m patting myself on the back for volunteering to do some booth work at the Green Caravan Film Festival starting tomorrow. Of course what I will be doing there is nothing compared to the organizational efforts put forth by the festival’s founders Sandra Al-Saleh and Reham Al-Samerai. The event is free of charge. And of course I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t take notes at our volunteer’s meeting this morning and post them on my blog. Support our earth, educate (and entertain) yourself. Cross the bridge for the film schedule.

I miss coffee, and I’m not a coffee drinker. I forgot to color in the cookie in the saucer so feel free to color it in with any flavor you like. I am hungry and have no energy this morning. I would gobble a rotten apple core collected from a garbage bin if you offered it to me right now. So it’s best I stay in and draw my lazy pictures.

I love crossword puzzles. You can leave me in a room with one for days on end and I won’t tire. Sometimes, however, my urge to draw is greater and I’ve never been one to suppress an urge. (more…)

This is one of my planning notebooks from way back. As is the case with most of my notebooks, it was a gift. Unfortunately I can’t remember who from. It’s a lovely green made from recycled paper it appears. (more…)

I have mailed this picture to a friend, but I’m not saying who. I just hope the postal service doesn’t fail me this time. (more…)

I went to my very first lecture in ages this morning at the Kuwait University: Accounting for Affect: Kuwaiti Women Between Freedom and Apathy by Dr. Mai Al-Nakib. I must say that I was a little lost at first but caught on ten minutes into the lecture. What can I say, I’m a little rusty where academia is concerned. Here are my class notes. (more…)
